In\u00a01983 I was asked if I would like to take on the mantle of \u2018Davros\u2019 \u2013 creator of\u00a0The Daleks\u2026 well you don\u2019t like to say no, do you? Not to a job like that you\u00a0don\u2019t\u2026.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Those few weeks\u2019 work on Resurrection of The Daleks with Peter Davison as The\u00a0Doctor led onto working with Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy and unwittingly\u00a0heralded the start of a long and happy association with the programme over 30 years on TV, Stage and currently the many Big Finish audio adventures I\u00a0continue to do as both \u2018Davros\u2019 and a plethora of other (usually evil)\u00a0characters!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

Meet \u2018Moanin\u2019 Mike Tucker!”<\/span><\/h4>\n

My alter ego has been an integral part of Ambridge Village life since he joined\u00a0the programme in 1973 as one of the regular cast of BBC Radio 4\u2019s most popular\u00a0continuing audio dramas – The Archers \u2013 the world\u2019s longest running soap opera – 63 years and counting!<\/span><\/h4>\n

Time has mellowed \u2018Mike\u2019 and with a fully-grown family from his first marriage\u00a0around him, he has found an unexpected new lease of life with his second wife\u00a0Vicky and their Down Syndrome daughter Bethany.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Audio<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

This is definitely my favourite area of work with over 500 radio plays under my\u00a0belt plus a couple of major industry awards and it has been the mainstay of my\u00a0whole carer. For an actor, it\u2019s perfect\u2026 as it doesn’t matter what you look like\u00a0or how old you are\u2026 it\u2019s the voice that counts!<\/span><\/h4>\n

Theatre<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Definitely the place for the actor to re-charge his creative batteries\u2026 nothing\u00a0beats the atmosphere of performance in front of a live audience\u2026 and thankfully\u00a0most of mine over the years HAVE been alive and mostly awake!<\/span><\/h4>\n
